Pattern of a long vest for women. Stylish women's vests: construction and modeling of patterns

Sewing a women's vest with your own hands is quite simple. First, a model suitable for a specific figure is selected and a pattern for a women's vest is made. Using the pattern, carefully cut out the details of the back, shelves and facings for processing the cuts. The shelves are first basted to the back and the product is tried on. Every family's wardrobe must have vests of different styles.

Sewing a vest

Many women tend to create real masterpieces. They combine fabrics of different colors or textures, and it turns out very original and stylish. For example, the back can be made of leather or wool, and the shelves can be made of fur.

A sleeveless vest may have a simple or stand-up collar, or maybe no collar at all. Such clothes will never go out of fashion, because it can be worn with any clothes, worn for a walk or for work. A warm vest will protect you from the cold, and a light vest will decorate your outfit. A men's classic three-piece suit with a vest adds respectability to the appearance of any man.

If the item fits well on the figure, all the details are sewn on a typewriter. After this, facings are first basted onto the sections of the product, then they are sewn on by machine.

If a lining is planned, then it is cut out and sewn with the front side to the front side of the main fabric. Then they turn it inside out, carefully straighten the product and sew up the seam through which the product was turned inside out.

Long women's vest

Pattern of an elongated women's vest. The elongated model is suitable for women with any figure, but especially if they have problem areas (for example, on the sides), so such models are their favorite clothes. It is better to sew long vests from soft, well-draped fabrics that will successfully disguise all problem areas of a full figure. The fabric consumption for a pattern for a women's vest size 52 will be 130 cm by 150 cm. To build a vest template, take the following measurements:

  1. length of the product;
  2. half the volume of the chest;
  3. half the waist circumference;
  4. half the neck circumference;
  5. armhole depth.

Using these measurements, you need to make paper patterns for the back and shelves. To cut a sleeveless vest, templates for the back and fronts are applied to the prepared fabric.

The back will be one-piece, so its template is attached to the fold of the fabric, carefully drawn and cut out entirely, there will be two shelves, so their templates are placed on the fabric and cut out separately.

Sleeveless vest template for girls

In order to sew, you don’t have to be a professional tailor; even a beginner can cope with this task; you just need to watch the master class a few times, and you can easily cut and sew a sleeveless vest. To make a vest pattern for a girl and get started, You will need the following materials and tailoring tools:

At the beginning of work, you need to connect the shoulder sections. Long edges are trimmed using an overlocker or sewing machine, or by hand. The thread should match the tone of the selected fabric. Collecting folds, ruffles are sewn onto all sections of the product. In order to achieve symmetry, folds are sewn in the opposite direction in the center of the product.

You should not lose sight of the fact that the front part of the frill is stitched onto the front surface of the main material. Next, the ruffles are turned inside out and trimmed at 3 mm for seam margins, and they are ironed inside the front details of the sleeveless vest. After smoothing the ruffles, the seam is duplicated to a width of 1-2 mm from the connecting stitch of the ruffles and the main material. For effect, the stitch is sewn with a thread of a different color.

After sewing the side seams and hemming the bottom of the sleeveless vest, the work can be considered complete. For an aesthetic appearance, the seams can be highlighted with a thread of a contrasting color.

Stylish men's sleeveless vest

In any man’s wardrobe you can always find a lot of clothes that are obsolete or have lost their marketable appearance. You can give old things a new life by repurposing them into other items of clothing, for example, you can make a stylish vest from an old jacket.

To do this, it is enough to take a vest that matches the parameters of the figure, but is no longer relevant, and use it as a pattern.

Redraw the product on the prepared material. Make an increase of 5 cm to the cuts of the front, back and sides. Cut out all parts of the vest. It can be made two-color or one color as desired. Having completed all the necessary steps, connect the sleeveless jacket using the usual method: fastened with tailor's pins, basted and double stitched for beauty. This style is preferred by athletes and active people leading a healthy lifestyle.

Attention, only TODAY!

An elongated vest is a versatile and practical addition to a woman's wardrobe. Firstly, vests are always in fashion, secondly, they are perfectly combined with different styles of skirts and trousers, and thirdly, sleeveless vests are suitable for women of any age and build. By visually correcting the silhouette, an elongated vest makes the figure slimmer. And one more important plus - sewing an elongated sleeveless vest using a pattern is very simple! To do this, it is enough to have basic sewing skills. Our article is intended for dressmakers with different levels of training. Choose the option that suits you best and get to work!

The basic pattern of a straight silhouette dress with darts is used as a basis.

We transfer the chest dart into the side seam. To do this, mark a point on it, stepping back 4 cm from the armhole. Then we connect it to the top of the chest dart. Cut along the drawn line. Closing the chest dart. In this case, the side one opens along the incision.

Back modeling

At the waist, set aside 1 cm from the middle of the back and draw a perpendicular straight line to the bottom line. Draw a pattern curve upward, connecting the point at the waist with the point in the center of the segment between the bottom of the neckline and the armhole line.

We increase the size of the rollout. We deepen it in the center of the back by 5 mm and expand it along the shoulder line by 2 cm. Draw a new neck line along the pattern.

We expand and deepen the armhole. To do this, set aside 15 mm along the shoulder seam, and 20 mm down the side line.

Front modeling

We deepen and widen the armhole as described for the back.

For the fastener, set aside 2 cm along the waist level to the right and draw a perpendicular line down. We extend it upward to chest level. We deepen and widen the rollout on the front part, setting aside 2 cm along the center and shoulder lines.

Our vests have a straight silhouette, so we will not make waist darts and will make the side seam straight.

Pattern of an elongated sleeveless vest

For this model, we shorten the main pattern to the desired length (usually about 20 cm). If it is too long for your height, you can shorten it by a larger amount. We leave the rest unchanged. To mark the pockets, set aside 20-25 cm from the side dart and mark the upper boundary point. We place the second one along the same straight line 10-15 cm lower. Then we model the burlap.

We retake the resulting patterns.

Pattern of an elongated vest with a dropped shoulder

We decide on the length of the product. On the basic vest pattern, we reduce the armhole by moving the extreme points to the left/right by 2 cm (see drawing).

Please note that on the front part this distance is laid out along the slope lines of the darts.

To build a new shoulder line, extend it by 5 cm and lower the end point by 1 cm. We build new pattern lines for the armhole.

From the top point of the roll-out we build a convex neck profile, matching it with the center line of the front. We remove the indentation for the fastener modeled on the basic vest pattern.

The model includes a welt pocket with a flap.

If you wish, you can not complete the pocket, but limit it to the valve. In this case we will get a false pocket.

To construct the valve pattern, we build a rectangle with dimensions of 9 by 15 cm. Then we move the lower points 3 cm to the left. We get a pattern in the shape of a parallelogram. We outline the location of the pocket on the front part.

We draw a frame-slot for the pocket 2 by 13 cm and mark its location under the flap.

All we have to do is outline the location of the buttons. The first will be at a distance of 10 cm from the bottom point of the rollout, the second - 15 cm from the first.

Straight-cut vest without fastener from Burda No. 11/2016: video master class

Vest with shawl collar

Patterns are made for sizes 40 to 52.

The model is quite complex to make and requires mastery of outerwear sewing skills.

For work you need:

  • main fabric: 1.7-1.9 m (depending on size);
  • dublerin: 1.1-1.8 m (depending on the width of the dublerin and the size of the product);
  • lining fabric - 1.3-1.6 m (depending on size).

For sewing, it is recommended to use thick woolen fabrics, usually used for making coats: drape, cloth, bouclé. Lighter versions such as suit fabrics are also suitable. An elongated vest made of velvet, jacquard, velor, or heavy suit silk will look great.

patterns

We must make patterns for the back, front, and hems. The facing patterns for the armholes and lining are not shown separately; they are made according to the patterns of the corresponding parts.

The increase in exhaust gas is 12 cm, since this model has free volume. You can wear a thick sweater under the vest or wear the vest as a double-breasted vest.

Description

When marking patterns on the material, it is important to take into account the direction of the grain thread. Accurate adherence to the dimensions of the allowances, especially on the collar and sides, is also of great importance. Such care will ensure that the collar fits correctly and will simplify its processing.

In addition, be sure to transfer design lines and notches onto the fabric. For example, notches at the waistline and at the bottom of the lapel bend serve as a guide when assembling a vest.

In order to save material, the selection can be cut from several parts. The main thing is that the joining seam does not fall above the level of the fold of the lapel. If we sew from thick material, then the seams at the joints of the right and left hems should not overlap each other.

Allowance values:

  • seams on the shoulders, sides, central seam, on the dart, pocket entrance, seams on dots and facings - 1.0-1.2 cm;
  • lower cut - 3.5-4.0 cm;
  • departure of the side and collar - 0.7-1.0 cm;
  • the lift-off of the edge is 1.0-1.2 cm.

There is no need to provide allowances for the sprout, armholes, collar sewing lines, or the inner edge of the hem.

For allowances on the flange and hem, it is important to maintain a difference of 0.3-0.5 cm. For thick materials it should be maximum.

If there is a vent along the central seam of the back, then the allowance for these seams should be 5-6 cm.

Layout of patterns on material for small sizes - see below.

Larger patterns are laid out differently.

Sewing

We duplicate the back part below the shoulder blades with doubler material, cutting out the cut in a large zigzag. The front halves, hems and facings are duplicated in their entirety (except for allowances).

We process the sides and start working on the lining.

We cut out the lining according to the same patterns as the main parts, reducing them by the amount of facings and facings.

We provide allowances:

  • seams on the shoulders and sides - 1.0-1.2 cm;
  • central seam of the back if there is a vent - 5-6 cm;
  • along the central seam of the back we place an allowance - a fold on top measuring 2 cm;
  • armhole and hem sections - 2.0-2.5 cm.

We sew a vest, like all products with a lining.

In contrast to the contours of the basic pattern, when modeling a vest, the back neck deepens by 2 cm, the armholes of the front and back - by 1.5 cm. Darts or reliefs, pocket locations, product length, neck shape and hem lines are modeled depending on the chosen style future product. How to quickly sew a vest with your own hands without a pattern

A vest is a type of clothing that anyone can make with their own hands, even if they have never tried to sew before. In this case, it is recommended to choose models, the implementation of which does not require the creation of complex patterns and careful processing of individual components - sewing in a collar or hood, sewing in the lining, hems, fasteners. This allows you to sew a vest, even without using a sewing machine.
The simplest but most effective vest is made from a rectangular piece of fabric with non-fraying edges:

  • fleece;
  • polar fleece;
  • neoprene;
  • loden;
  • knitwear;
  • cloth;
  • leather or leatherette;
  • natural or artificial sheepskin coat.

In addition to fabric, to sew a vest you will need scissors, a ruler and chalk.

  1. Draw a rectangle 75×115-140 cm on the fabric.
  2. Fold it in half.
  3. Along the upper edge, at a distance of 21 cm from the fold of the fabric, mark a point from which to set 15 cm down.
  4. Mark armholes 20-25 cm deep.
  5. Make cuts for the armholes.

The vest is ready! This model can be worn unbuttoned. In addition, it looks good when wrapped and tied with a belt or fastened with buttons, hooks, snaps, or a zipper. To do this, you will need to place a fastener on the vest's shelves.

A beautiful vest with softly draping round tails is made from a circle with a diameter of 110 cm.

  1. Draw a circle and mark its center.
  2. Stepping 25 cm apart from the center of the circle, mark the lower points of the future armholes.
  3. From these points, draw perpendicular segments 25 cm long and make cuts along them.

Like the previous model, a wrap-around vest with round tails can be worn unbuttoned or tied with a belt. If you have a machine, all sections can be treated with decorative trim, narrow strips of leather or fur.

The original vest is made from a large Pavloposad scarf or lace scarf. Using the diagram below, sewing it will be easy.

Using scarves with bright prints, you can sew a beautiful vest, as in the photo.

You can make a cute vest with your own hands, even without a pattern, if you use a ready-made jacket as a basis. This video demonstrates how to make a fashionable vest out of an old jacket.

How to sew a vest from an old fur coat with your own hands, master class

A fur vest is a recent fashion trend that is worn with pleasure by men, women and children. Not a single autumn-winter collection is complete without such models. They are worn in combination with clothing in sports, folk, business and casual styles.

The style of the vest can be any - short or long, straight, trapezoidal or fitted. Particularly popular, due to their practicality, are elongated vests made from natural and artificial fur, sheepskin, as well as combinations of leather, suede, cashmere, wool, jacquard, knitwear with fur.

You can sew a fur vest yourself using:

  • artificial fur;
  • natural skins;
  • old fur products, for example, a fur coat;
  • scraps of fur.

The length of the pile also does not matter - the vest will turn out beautiful from astrakhan or mink, as well as from silver fox or scribe. To avoid damaging the pile when cutting the vest, the vest should be cut with a sharp stationery knife, after first transferring the contours of the parts to the wrong side of the fur. If the parts are assembled in separate pieces, be sure to take into account the direction of the pile when cutting.

You can sew the cut parts by hand or on a furrier's machine. Separately, using the same patterns, you should assemble the lining and sew it to the already assembled vest. Make a fastener by sewing hooks, ties or making loops and sewing on buttons.

You can see in detail how to sew a new fashionable vest from an old fur coat in the video below.

You can sew a fashionable vest from natural fur even without a machine, using only a crochet hook, thread, a gypsy needle and a punch. How to do this is shown step by step in the photo.

Original do-it-yourself women's vest

You can sew an original women's vest from almost any artificial or natural material:

  • fur;
  • velvet;
  • leather or suede;
  • jeans or corduroy;
  • linen, cotton or silk, knitwear, mixed fabrics;
  • guipure, tapestry, jacquard, wool and other materials.

In addition to fabrics for sewing a vest, you can use your favorite things that are no longer worn, as well as scarves, stoles and even just beautiful rags. Thanks to the use of patchwork and quilting techniques, they produce exclusive models. Examples of sewing vests from various materials can be seen in the video below.

How to sew a men's vest with your own hands, master class

Every woman who knows how to sew a little and has chosen a suitable pattern can independently make a vest for her beloved man. Sewing a vest begins with cutting. To do this, you need to re-shoot or print the details of the vest. Lay them out on the fabric lengthwise, outline them with chalk, mark the seam allowances - 1.5 cm each. Cut out the parts, baste them and try them on, make adjustments. Then assemble the vest - first stitching the darts, then the shoulder and side seams, ironing them. After this, it is necessary to process the sections of the armhole, neck, sides and bottom with tape, knitted elastic or facing. The assembly is completed by the design of the fastener - it can be with buttons, buttons, hooks or a zipper. When using fabrics with non-fraying edges, the section processing step can be skipped, leaving them open. This casual design looks great on casual jeans and linen. If thin and soft fabrics are used to sew a vest, in order for them to keep their shape, the parts of the shelves can be glued with non-woven fabric. In this case, it is recommended to place the vest on a lining. It is cut out of lightweight fabric in bright colors, using the same pattern as for the top details. The lining is assembled in the same way as the top parts, sewing down the shoulder and side seams and ironing them. Then, fold the lining and top face to face, join them with one stitch, leaving a small gap to turn the vest facing. Carefully sew up the remaining open area and iron all seams. Use a single stitch to connect the lining to the top at the armholes, and iron the seams. Features of the stages of sewing a vest can be seen in the video below.

Assembling parts cut from fabric is not difficult. To do this, you need to machine sew the shoulder and side seams. The processing features of the neckline, armhole, hem and fastener depend on the intended design. If desired, they can be deliberately left untreated, since the resulting fringe is back in fashion.

A denim vest can be decorated with lace, ribbons, fur, patterns applied with special acrylic paints, stripes, stones or metal rivets, spikes, eyelets, zippers, add scuffs and holes. Such decor will add uniqueness to a hand-sewn denim model.

  4. From the lower right corner of this rectangle, draw a line straight down - from 20 to 25 cm, cut out a slot for the hands.

  6. Enter your sizes.
