Comment for teacher

The use of tests to diagnose students' knowledge will allow schoolchildren to develop the skills to work with test material, i.e., to actually begin preparing for the Unified State Exam.

In addition, the materials of the manual will help to carry out systematic individual and group control of knowledge when checking homework and consolidating the acquired knowledge in lessons, when drawing up assignments for olympiads.

The manual “Testing and measuring materials in social studies for grade 6” was written for the textbook Social Studies. 6th grade: textbook for educational institutions / [L.N. Bogolyubov, N.F. Vinogradova, N.I. Gorodetskaya and others]; edited by L.N. Bogolyubova, L.F. Ivanova. - 2nd ed. - (M.: Education).

Test and measurement materials are compiled for each paragraph of the textbook and for generalization lessons. The end of the manual contains answers to all tasks.

Test tasks make it possible to objectively identify not only the students’ knowledge of social studies, but also their educational skills at various levels of mastering the material.

The manual contains tasks of basic and advanced levels of difficulty. They are arranged according to the principle of increasing from simple in part A, to complicated in part B and complex, requiring a detailed answer and placed in the appendix (part C).

Part A contains multiple choice tasks (5 tasks for each lesson, 10 for generalization lessons, 16 for the final generalization).

Part B consists of more complex tasks (from i to 3) with an open answer. They allow you to test your ability to classify and systematize knowledge and give a short answer.

Part C contains tasks of increased complexity that require an open, detailed answer. These tasks contain a condition in the form of a situation or statement and questions for them.

The thematic tests take 7-15 minutes. The teacher can use these test tasks in each lesson, involving individual students or the whole class in testing their knowledge. 40-45 minutes are allotted for completing assignments for a generalization lesson, and although it may be difficult for a teacher to devote an entire lesson to testing and consolidating acquired knowledge, it is advisable to do this due to the need to prepare students for passing the Unified State Exam.

For each part of the task, the student receives points, which add up to a total score.

For answers to tasks at level C, the student may be given a separate grade on a five-point system. Thus, the choice of assessment system is dictated by the purpose of testing and the type of pedagogical control. The author of the manual recommends using a flexible system for assessing test results, in which the student has the right to make mistakes:

80% of the maximum score - score “5”;

60-80% - score “4”;

40-60% - score “3”;

0-40% - rating “2”.
